ATTENTION MASON COUNTY ARES MEMBERS – MASON COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MEMBERS – ALL AMATEUR RADIO OPERATORS
ARRL SIMULATED EMERGENCY TEST October 3rd 2015
On Saturday October 3rd Mason County ARES members along with the Mason County Division of Emergency Management, the Washington State Division of Emergency Management and other county DEMs. This SET is one in a series of SETs that will be conducted over the next year as part of the CASCADIA RISING SCENARIO. The CASCADIA RISING SCENARIO will test emergency personals ability to respond to a magnitude 9 seismic event on the CASCADIA FAULT.
OPERATIONAL PLAN
#1 The SET will commence at 0900 hrs on Saturday October 3rd. with a check in roll call of ARES members. There is no scheduled activity following the check in.
#2 The entire SET will last from 0900 hrs through 1200 hrs.
#3 The SET will be held of the Mason County Amateur Radio Clubs 2 meter Shelton repeater. The frequency is 146.720 with a negative off set & 103.5 PL tone.
#4 In the event of a radio failure the alternate frequency is the 2 meter South Mtn frequency 145.270 with a negative off set & 103.5 PL tone.
#5 The format will be the monthly ARES check in roll call followed by any amateur radio operator wishing to check in.
#6 Net control will be AC7YX.
#7 At the conclusion of the check in net control will remain on the air until 1200 hrs.
#8 This check in will take the place of the regularly scheduled October ARES check in.
