Choosing a Club Banner

Club President Ben Hicks asks club members which of the two banners shown below they prefer. The banner would be made in time for use at the Field Day event in June.

This request also went out to the club email list and several comments have been received. For those who missed this request, here’s your chance to weigh in. Please send your choice to President Hicks, along with any suggested changes you’d like to see.

Weather Net Ends For Now, Chat Net Continues

The MC-ARES daily weather net has ended for this season. Our thanks to all who participated and provided input for future local nets.

Some participants stated they enjoyed the net so we agreed to a very informal 8:00 AM weather and chat net with no NCS (net control station). This will be on the 2-meter repeater daily for folks to check in and chat about everything ham radio and beyond.  We hope to hear from many of you soon.

Thanks again to everyone. For questions or comments, please contact contact Tom Dennis KA4VVA MAson ARES EC at KA4VVA@gmail.com.

Weather Net is Active Daily at 8:00 am

Mason County has a new amateur radio weather net that is active every morning at 8:00 am local time. Find the net on the club’s 2-meter repeater.

The preferred reporting format includes observations of temperature, humidity, wind, barometric pressure, water condition, soil, and snow and ice. Results are forwarded to the Mason County Department of Emergency Management. DEM wants real “eyeball” accounts from hams around the county.

The information and reporting form is available as a download in Word and PDF formats:
