AMATEUR RAIO WEEK PROCLAMATION

The Mason County Division of Emergency Management has extended an invitation to all Mason County Amateur Radio Operators to attend the Tuesday June 16th Mason County Commissioners meeting. The meeting will be held at 0900 hrs in the Commissioners Chambers. At the meeting the County Commissioners will be making a proclamation recognizing June 22-26 as Amateur Radio week and to thank volunteer radio operators for their community support.

It’s at the Commissioner Chamber Annex on 5th Street across from the Courthouse.

Field Day 2015 Locations & Info

Field Day is coming up (Field Day is always the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC (1100 our time) Saturday and running through 2059 UTC Sunday. Field Day 2015 is June 27-28)! This year we plan to set up at Hunter’s Field; just North of Shelton on Highway 101. The Club will also be running the GOTA Station, and general Club/Ham Information booth, at the Wal-Mart in Shelton. Bring your friends and talk on the radio!

This Is The Place! (Where have I heard that before?)

Address is: 13399 U.S. 101. @47.2596344,-123.1494728 for the GPS inclined. North of Shelton on U.S. 101 for the Map Literate. Bout 1 mile North of the Airport for the Good-Ol-Boys. There’ll be a sign next to the road for the rest of us.

Don’t forget our June Meeting this coming Saturday and testing afterwards.

The Mason County Amateur Radio Club will meet Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 8:30 AM at the Alpine Way Retirement Apartments in Shelton, Washington. (Coffee provided) Y’all come join us. Everybody is welcome! Remember that Testing is immediately after the meeting.

Remember: Bill (N7BAA) is sponsoring a Technician Class at PUD3 (North end of the building) 24 April 1800-2100 (6-9 PM) and 25 April 0800-1700 (8 AM-5 PM). KF7RKA will be the instructor. Great time to get your Technician Ticket without having to dedicate 1 night a week for 6 weeks or so. If you know someone that is interested, have them contact N7BAA and go from there.

Reminder: Field Day will quickly be upon us this last full weekend of June. Are you ready? Come to the next couple of meetings and help us plan our activities (and the food. Don’t forget the food). If you attend Field Day you’ll get to see KF7LTT’s new toy!
