With sadness we note the passing of Lee Jan 21, 2016.
He was Club President/Treasurer occasionally and active on our Nets. Always seemed to have an interesting story or trivia question for the group.

SKYWARN Recognition Day (SRD) this year is Sat, Dec 5 from 0000z to 2400z –
translated to PST as 4 PM Dec 4 to 4 PM Dec 5 Pacific Time.
SRD is the National Weather Service way to thank amateur radio volunteers
for their assistance during high impact weather and hydrologic events as
well as exercises and all-hazards events such as a major earthquake. It is
also an opportunity to establish and enhance good working relationships
with these important volunteers. SRD is supported by the American Radio
Relay League (ARRL) and the National Weather Service (NWS).
NWS Seattle will again participate in this years event. We will have
shifts with a combination of local amateur radio volunteers and NWS Seattle
running from:
Dec 4 @ 4-8 PM
Dec 5 @ 8 AM to Noon
Dec 5 @ Noon to 4 PM
The event will involve making contacts and exchanging local weather
information. The event will use the K7MMI repeater system in western
Washington at 147.20 MHz. http://www.psrrr.net/k7mmi.htm Thanks go to
Pete Kruml and the K7MMI team for use of the repeater system.
Other radio systems will be in use as well including UHF, HF and Echolink.
*Action: As an amateur radio operator, we encourage your Skywarn
Recognition Day participation and ask that you share this information with
your area amateur radio volunteers to help spread the word and enhance
participation.* Our record number of contacts is just over 200 set during
the 2007 SRD. With more inclement wet windy weather in the forecast for
this weekend, this is a great opportunity to share your location weather
information.
The official SRD web site is http://hamradio.noaa.gov and offers more
information about this annual event.
Thank you again for your support of SRD. SRD has become a popular event in
the amateur radio community across the nation. If there are any questions
during the event, you can contact us at 206-526-6095 x0.
Thanks again!
