…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING…
The Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of northwest Washington and west central Washington,
including the following counties, in northwest Washington,
Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, Skagit, and
Whatcom. In west central Washington, King, Lewis, Pierce,
Snohomish, and Thurston.
* From Friday afternoon through Sunday morning
* Several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected into
the weekend. River are expected to rise, with some rivers
reaching flood stage as early as Friday evening. Snow levels
will be around 6,000 to 8,000 feet tonight through Friday night.
Heavy rainfall may also cause periods of minor urban flooding.
The exact placement of heaviest rainfall remains uncertain and
will have a direct influence on the magnitude and placement of
flooding. Widespread minor to moderate river flooding is most
likely, but major flooding cannot be ruled out.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor latest forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
