Communications Academy 2010

The 12th annual Communications Academy will be held April 10-11, 2010, at South Seattle Community College. The title this year is: Bringing Professionalism to Amateur Emergency Communications.

The Communications Academy is open to anyone with an interest in emergency communications, volunteer or professional. The presentations are designed to promote the development of knowledgeable, skilled emergency communicators who will support their local communities during a disaster or emergency response. MCARC meeting, March 13, 2010

The next meeting of the Mason County Amateur Radio Club will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 8:30 am at the Alpine Way Retirement Apartments in Shelton, Washington. Come early for breakfast!

Several very interesting ham radio projects were brought to the January 2010 club meeting by members. Need to get a wire over a tree? Marsh built a launcher to do exactly that. How about a homemade beam antenna, or an efficient ground-plane antenna? David brought some interesting testing equipment he had built, and Merle showed us an amazing project in which he converts signals to be able to work at microwave frequencies! Continue reading →
